Sesaam is encrypting your secrets directly in the browser before they are stored on our servers. There is no other way to store data in a secure way.

Frequently asked questions

  • How does sesaam work?

    When hitting Encrypt secret your browser generates a random private key and encrypts your secret before uploading it to our systems. Your private key is added to your secret link only. You share your secret link with the designated recipients only.

  • I've lost my secret link! What now?

    Once you've lost your secret link, there is no way to reveal your secret. We don't have access to your private key.

  • What happens to the stored data?

    Once a secret is fully retrieved, or expired, the encrypted data is permanently deleted.

  • Why is my device not supported?

    sesaam leverages browser based Web Crypto API to encrypt your secret before storing it on our systems. Find a list of supported browsers at Can I use.

  • Why did you build this?

    We wanted to provide a secure, feature rich and convenient way to share sensitive information.

  • Where is sesaam based?

    All our systems are located in Europe.

  • Can you provide a slack app?

    At the moment, the slack third party app API is not capable of end-to-end encrypted data exchange. As long as this doesn't change, we won't provide a slack app.

  • Is there any convenient way to integrate sesaam into my workflow?

    Yes! Sesaam users will get access to an API for workflow integration.
